Motivational Journalism

Motivational Journalism

Hi there! I’m Wendy. I’d like to welcome you to my blog. I don’t know how you found me, but I hope that you have a good reason for sticking around for a while. I’d like to use this opportunity to introduce myself and tell you a bit more about what you will be able to find on this blog.

I’m a journalist by profession, operating from New York and I mostly dabble in freelance and night crawling. While it may not be the most glamorous way to start a career, it helped me go to college and pay all the expenses that came with it.

I’ve worked in the journalism bubble for several years and since then, writing has become something of a passion for me. I constantly scribble notes and ideas for future short stories and articles that I will attempt to turn into actual pieces. One of the reasons I started the blog is exactly what – to provide help and guidance to would-be writers, journalists and anyone who might still be a student in need of help with writing.

While “success” is an overrated term for making a living, I will also focus my attention on building a career and a portfolio by writing interesting and provocative pieces. These will help you achieve some traction in your job-seeking efforts and hopefully help some of you fellow writers land a decent gig in doing so. God knows I had my fair share of troubles and downward spirals when I first graduated, so I will do my best to transfer whatever knowledge I gathered over that period and turn it into a step-by-step guide on how not to fail and actually succeed as a writer/journalist.

That just about covers what I have in mind for my site. I know that things must look barren right now but I can assure you that the back of my mind is always reserved for brainstorming and planning. I will expand the topics and content on the blog as I see fit since I’m also dipping my toes into multimedia content (but more on that later). Have fun to explore what is here and make sure to check back soon for more content updates! Thanks!
