Motivational Journalism

about me

My name is Wendy, and I’d like to welcome you to my blog! I’ve decided to share some nuggets of wisdom and information with fellow writers and journalists by starting my own website.

Since it can often be difficult to find good and relevant topics concerning actionable steps towards being a better writer, I took it upon myself to filter out the unnecessary data for you. I hope you find what you are looking for because I’m very excited at the prospect of doing this for colleagues and friends across the world!

I’m a journalist working from New York, specializing in freelance and contract work. This means that I often move to and from different papers and publishing houses, working wherever my skills are needed. What my job often entails is being on the spot of news that needs covering as soon as it happens. Sometimes journalism is stressful because you are often required to think on your feet and improvise, which are often important ingredients to success.

We will talk about journalism and print as an industry, as well as what it takes to become an active member of the profession. Since it took me quite a while to find my footing in the niche, I will do my best to give you concrete steps towards success and how you can monetize your writing ambition as soon as possible. It may take a while before my blog takes the shape I want it to (I am of course ambitious), but rest assured that we will get there eventually.

I would also like to point out that as a freelance journalist, my working hours are as flexible as they can get. This means that I will always have some time during the week to write an interesting piece of content for you to munch on until the next time we hear from each other. Feel free to share the site with anyone who might have aspirations towards journalism and writing in general, whether they are a college student or a professional in the field.

That about covers what I have in mind for the site for now. Feel free to drop any comments or recommendations for future content since I’m not all-knowing and capable of coming up with crazy new ideas daily. I look forward to hearing your thoughts in the coming weeks and months – have a great time!
